Georgie Roussac

NAREMBURN WARD COUNCILLOR

Willoughby City Council

I’m Georgie Roussac, Independent Councillor for Artarmon, Naremburn & St Leonards

My family and I have lived in the Naremburn Ward since 2008.

I love being active in our community. I’m a strong advocate for local issues, working closely with community organisations, residents and businesses.

I use my extensive experience in social and economic policy and skills in consultation and negotiation to advocate for our community and progress local issues.

Effective organisations engage meaningfully with the grassroots. I’m very focused on improving the way Council engages with all stakeholders, particularly residents and businesses which are the lifeblood of Council.

The cost of living is a huge concern for most people in our community. Household budgets are under tremendous stress and the effects flow through to our local communities and businesses. I will continue to support initiatives to keep rates and council fees as low as possible while maintaining essential services. We must eliminate unnecessary costs in Council and be very careful with every rate dollar we spend.

My Strong Track Record:

  • Represented residents and businesses on 352 separate matters in 3 years.
  • Attended over 115 community group, resident and business meetings.
  • Introduced 28 new ‘Kiss & Ride’ spots around Artarmon Public School improving child safety and reducing traffic congestion.
  • Extra $2 million a year for parks and street maintenance, cycling and walking paths, urban tree canopy.
  • Designed ‘Love Your Locals’ loyalty program to support local business that resulted in over 5,200 participants spending more than $260,000 at Naremburn and Artarmon businesses.

What people are saying

“Local businesses need a strong voice on Council. Georgie has proven to be a very engaged representative. Our community needs Georgie.”

Nick Logan – Nick Logan Pharmacy Artarmon

“Georgie is supportive, approachable, takes responsibility, encouraging and above all, community driven. She has an empathy towards the challenges of local businesses, engages and provides solutions for their ongoing sustainability”

Karl Riseborough, owner of Flat Rock Brew Naremburn

“We need people like Georgie—sharp, ethical, and compassionate advocates who get things done. Unlike what I expected from government—excuses, talk, and inaction—Georgie is out in our community, actively asking us how she can help. She listens, then taps into her large network of influence – and does everything in her power to change things for the better – for all of us and our environment.

Georgie’s dedication to finding better solutions and bridging the gap between community and government is truly one of a kind. I wholeheartedly endorse Georgie for election. We can’t afford to lose people like her.”

Bettina OTTERBECK Flat Rock Community Garden

“Georgie is not just an effective councillor, she’s a great neighbour and member of our local community. She’s worked successfully alongside residents on Artarmon Rd on a number of issues – thanks Georgie!”
